Pedagogy#
The pedagogy used is that of Flipped classroom.
Therefore, it is imperative that students work from home:
read the mentioned chapters of the reference book,
program regularly by doing the exercises offered on INGInious
prepare theoretical questions.
It is important that you get the reference book as soon as possible. There are about twenty copies available for rent in BST (Bibliothèque des Sciences et Technologies).
Algorithms (4th Edition)
Essential for the flipped-classroom format: students are expected to read the designated chapters before each lab session.

Lab Group Registration: Students must register for their lab group and computer room session on Moodle: Register for your Lab Group.
The course is organized in 6 modules of 2 weeks. Each module spans over an interactive two-week cycle:
Acquire Theory
Debrief module i-1 & introduction to module i
Hands-on practice with TAs & tutors (Teams support at 08:30) — Registration required
Book reading and preparing theoretical exercises A
Master Implementation
Correction and discussion of exercises A
Hands-on programming with TAs & tutors (Teams support at 08:30) — Registration required
Book reading & preparing exercises B on INGInious
Grading#
Computer exam on Inginious. An algorithmic competition will be organized at the end of the semester to help you prepare for the exam.

Important communications with students will be via Moodle. Please make sure to register for your lab group on Moodle. For all important communications, you can also write to us by email.
